  • awesome ( MATH151 )

I was in this class during the Fall of 2019. He's good at making tough topics easy to understand. He truly loves the beauty of math and often comes up with cool ways to connect math ideas to everyday life. If you go to class and have taken something like Calculus 1 or AB before, you'll definitely score an A easily.

He's one of the best teachers I've ever had at Auburn. His classes are always exciting and he really knows what he's talking about. You have many chances to get a good grade besides the four tests like doing extra credit, participating in class, and doing your homework. I absolutely loved this class and learned a lot.

  • awesome ( MATH308 )

He's the best Math teacher that I've ever had. Differential Equations can seem frightening at first, but he always gives clear, simple explanations. Paying careful attention in class, filling out notes, and completing homework will definitely place an A within your reach. His tests are also manageable, since he's really good about letting you know what content to expect. I would certainly suggest him to others.

I truly enjoyed the class and this professot. He was entertaining, straightforward, and made great effort to assist. All you have to do is take the class with seriousness, abide by the rules and you'll do great. I picked up so much knowledge that's useful both for my everyday life and my classes.

Professor Joseph McMahon

Well, not really. The only good part is he's not too tough when it comes to grading papers. But his teaching style is really unorganized. His handwriting is pretty hard to read and the writing tasks he gives are more puzzling than they should be. It's really difficult to talk to him outside of class too. This might just be the most boring class I've ever had.

  • good ( IDIS424 )

He's a very nice teacher who truly cares about her students. You have to take part in class though, if you don't, you'll lose lots of marks. But, if you make sure to finish all your in-class activities and homework, you'll do well. I'd say you should take her class.

  • awesome ( BIO264 )

Definitely he knows how to make learning fun and interesting. You can tell that he loves what he teaches and knows a lot about it. This helps him make the things we don't get at first, easy to understand. And the best part is, he puts all his talks on PowerPoint so we can check them out later if we need to.

  • awesome ( MCB2010AND )

He cares about his students. He wants you to succeed and pass, and he'll give you everything you need to get ready for your tests or hands-on-learning. But you got to put in the work and study. He’s a patient guy and will take the time to explain the stuff you don't get. He even provides study guides, puts up lots of detailed PowerPoint presentations, and records his classroom talks online so you can check them out later. Microbiology's a tough subject, no matter who's teaching it. But with him it's pretty cool. Overall, he's an awesome teacher.

Professor Heather Hoeck-Mills

I didn't really think her lessons were that helpful. Her grading is pretty mid-level. She's a decent person but is really strict with lots of things, even when crazy stuff happens like when we all got sent home due to COVID-19. There are some teachers in the physics department worse than her, but there are definitely some better ones too.

  • poor ( POLS415 )

He's not very useful when it comes to asking for help outside of class time. It's very uncommon to get an email response back from her. The class grade is mostly based on about five quizzes and two short assignments that she marks really toughly. If possible, try not to take this class.

  • average ( SHIS225 )

He doesn't assign much homework, just tests throughout the whole school term. You've got to study all the time. His grading can be a bit strange sometimes. Overall, she's an okay teacher.

  • awesome ( ENGL102 )

She's awesome, very helpful and truly cared about her students' success. She responded to email quickly and was always ready to help. If given the chance, I'd totally want to be in one of her classes again.

  • awesome ( THAR281 )

The class with this professor by far the simplest one I've had. All exams are online, and you can look at your books while taking them. We only had two projects that were pretty simple and the homework, though it took a bit of time, was a cinch to ace. She frequently offers bonus points almost every week. She's really humorous and caring. But sometimes she might take some time to answer your emails.

  • awesome ( REL105 )

He's an outstanding teacher and you'll definitely learn tons about Asian religions, but it won't be easy. The reading assignments are long and pretty complicated. However, his classes are always fun and he's a very kind guy. If you need help, he's always around. I felt prepared for the test, even if the grading is a little strict.

  • awesome ( MATH236 )

Some people might tell you scary stories about him, but that wasn't my experience. His lessons were very good and not hard to follow. The homework he gave was important and not too much. Plus he's kind of funny. He'd often crack jokes in class. I don't know what others think, but that's how it was for me in his class.

  • awful ( ENG102 )

I didn't enjoy having this teacher. His class was very tough. He made English harder than it needed to be. Trying to write essays in his class was incredibly difficult. He grades very strictly and isn't afraid to put students on the spot. I didn't feel like I learned anything in his class, or that I improved my writing. Honestly, each day in his class was a struggle. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend him at all.

  • good ( GENETICS1 )

He's truly one of the top teachers I've had. He honestly cares about the subject he's teaching and is knowledgeable. He moves at a rapid pace, so get ready to do some learning on your own. However, he's friendly and easy to contact by email. Generally, he cares a bunch and wants to see all his students do well.

  • average ( CS102 )

I had him for CS 102. Honestly, it was pretty frustrating. Every week, the workload was massive and dull as dishwater. The things we learned didn't seem practical to me since I've gotten through my whole life without needing most of them. His grading system is strange, too. He averages out grades from all your attempts rather than counting your highest score.

  • awful ( BIO121 )

Avoid taking his class. He instructs by tossing out tons of terms he's familiar with and seems puzzled when you don't instantly get it. He absolutely won't help students who are finding the material tough. Instead, he'll tell them that they should already know this information. What's the point of him teaching us if he's not going to explain things in a way we can understand?

  • awesome ( ENGL210 )

This is likely the simplest class you'll ever take. Mostly, you can score full marks on all tasks if you write up to the word limit. The big assignments need quality writing to score almost perfect marks. To snag an A in this class, be sure to complete all your work.
