Awesome

This class was a seminar, so we had to do lots of reading before class. Do not let other reviews intimidate you! 30% of your grade comes from the questions in class and they aren't actually hard. You'll be fine as long as you read! He even gives another chance if you don't remember a detail.

Awful

This is a difficult class, and Professor Kern is not really helpful if you have questions. His class consists of three tests and a few extra credit opportunities. When I asked what study tactics he recommends to struggling students, he offered me no response and simply wished me luck on my next exam. If you take this class, you can expect to spend a lot of time studying.

Good

Professor Kern is an exceptional one. He takes the time to answer questions for those who don't understand. Attendance is not mandatory, but the lectures help a lot. Also, the tests were difficult so, reading the book and going to class is crucial to receive an A. Overall, if you're not a political science student or interested in government and politics, this class will be a very challenging one.

Poor

Professor Kern is impossible to understand. He has a proper German accent, so his lectures are incomprehensible to me. His lectures explain hard concepts as well. It is not a joke. Also, his exams are very difficult. I got a low C in the first two and somehow an A in the last one. If you are ready to teach yourself this class, this one is for you.

Poor

His teaching approach is different and can make understanding tough. He only grades us on three exams and barely offers extra credits. Plus, he's not great at talking to students. I wouldn't recommend his class.
