My experience as an analyst with the actuarial services group was broad
and included valuation and modelling work ranging from property and casualty to life and health insurance. A key focus of my work was on stochastic modelling
and I built or worked closely on models for sick leave valuations
captive feasibility assessments
life and long-term disability insurance
self-insurance retentions for municipalities and associations
and total company models for large life and P&C insurance companies. As an extension of this role
I became involved in the programming
development
and support of Collins Barrow's proprietary stochastic modelling software
DIVA. My work on DIVA included developing a new module for the valuation of sick leave benefits
redesigning a module to calculate annuity factors for pension valuations
and the introduction of a user-authentication system using the RSA-2048 cryptosystem.
