Average

Prof Johnstone is a nice guy and genuinely wants to see his students succeed. However, his TA's seem to be on a different page regarding grading, they were the sole inconsistency of the course. The lectures are crammed and you really have to work for your grade, but if you want an A and are willing to dedicate the time, it's not impossible.

Good

Professor Johnstone is very passionate about the material he's teaching. By the end of the first one hour lecture, he almost knew everyone's name in the class, which was about fifty students. Just be prepared to participate and read aloud in class. I suggest having a quick five minute break in between classes, would help people pay attention and be re-engaged in class.
