Ontario, Canada
I am the Director of the University of Ottawa (uOttawa) Institute of Mental Health Research's Forensic Research Unit, as well as the Director of Forensic Rehabilitation Research in the Integrated Forensic Program of the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group.

I am cross-appointed to four universities in Ontario, with graduate students at Ryerson, Carleton, and uOttawa. Views expressed here are my own and do not necessarily reflect the views of these institutions.

I have published extensively on pedophilia, online offending, sexual offending, and mentally disordered offenders and frequently present on these topics at scientific meetings and professional workshops. My research has been funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, Ontario Mental Health Foundation, Correctional Services Canada and the Mental Health Commission of Canada.

I have appeared in a variety of media outlets to talk about these topics, including CBC Radio One, CBC Newsworld, CTV, Global Television, TVO, The Globe and Mail, The National Post; Wall Street Journal, New Yorker magazine, Maclean's magazine and the BBC World Service.

I have also provided training and consultation to the Ontario Provincial Police, Federal Bureau of Investigation, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in the US, and the Thorn Foundation.

I am currently on the editorial boards of Archives of Sexual Behavior, Journal of Sex Research, and Law and Human Behavior. I am the Editor in Chief of Sexual Abuse.
