Professor Dear is the best classics professor I've had, hands down. He did not use a power point in the class. However, his teaching style was clearly incredible. It's straight to the point and easy to understand. Just hearing him speak, you can tell that he's very well versed and passionate about Ancient Rome. I will absolutely take another class under him.

The class of Professor Dewar was mainly based on readings. The reading was heavy and mandatory. His grades were based on four papers including a term paper, attendance and participation. On the other hand, he's very lenient in grading and offers long extensions for term paper. He's very knowledgeable on topics too. He likes to give trivia and make jokes. He quickly respond to email, but be sure to make it formal. In my opinion this is a must take course. His the best professor I've ever had.
