Mara is a Professor of Strategic Management at the Rotman School of Management and the Site Lead for CDL-Toronto. Mara joined the faculty of the Rotman School in 2003 after completing a PhD in Economics at MIT. Mara divides her time between research, teaching and consulting. Mara's research is in the areas of Industrial Organization and Organizational Economics. At a broad level, she studies how companies compete and how they organize themselves for competitive advantage. She is best known for her research on loyalty programs and organizational design. Much of her work has been focused on the airline industry and she is recognized as an expert in this area. Mara teaches courses on Strategy, Data Analytics and Business Problem-Solving in Rotman's MBA and Executive Education programs. Mara regularly consults with clients on a variety of topics including strategy, economics and data analytics.
