Professor Pernell gives amazing lectures. She takes a lot of care to prepare her lectures and respond promptly to our emails. You really need to attend her lectures in order to understand better the readings and do well on the test. Because of her, I fell in love with Economic Sociology.

I took SOC208 as an elective and I ended up with a CR/NCR. I wouldn't suggest taking this course unless you're interested in the topic. She is a tough grader and her lectures are pretty boring. She doesn't even provide extensions if you aren't enrolled with accessibility services.
