Fifteen year's full time experience teaching in higher education: European History 1500BC to 20th Century, with special interests in classical antiquity, modern Britain, the British Empire (especially India), the First World War, and comparative imperialism. Research specializations in Classical Reception, the culture of imperialism in Britain, and the cultural impact of the First World War. I'm particularly interested in Digital Humanities as teaching, research, and sharing tools. I also operate an on-line consultancy, the Consulting Professor, which provides academic support to undergraduates and graduates, career support for those seeking academic positions, and research support to cultural institutions and their industry partners. For fun I write historical fiction with a speculative twist.
Adjunct Professor of History
Currently teaching ancient history and a First Year Seminar on the human and cultural impact of the Great War. I'm still running the Consulting Professor as well - a site dedicated to providing academic support for undergraduates, graduate students, and junior faculty and research services to industry.
