Good
Prof. Smith was an entertaining lecturer who sometimes goes off on tangents about background information. You just have to do the readings because multiple assignments require course readings.

Researched aboriginal and public sector governance in Canada. I aided in the study of the governance of various organizations
and I presented research findings in Toronto. I also conducted focus groups in Halifax and Toronto in a study about the governance of a public organization. In addition to these two major areas
I led a project to study Parliament and the committee system.

The Parliamentary Internship Programme is a non-partisan
educational introduction to Canadian politics. As a Parliamentary Intern
I completed two five month work placements in the Ottawa offices of a government and an opposition Member of Parliament. The program involved weekly academic discussions; \"brown-bag lunch\" seminars with prominent public actors in government
the private sector
and activists; and a research paper
which focused on parliamentary committees. I also participated in study tours to Nunavut
Washington
Belfast
Brussels
Toronto
and Québec City to learn about politics and governance around the world.
