Prof. Ali is totally a gem! He entertains questions and you can see that he's passionate about the material. His lectures can be quite disorganized but his awesomeness compensates for it. He's also accessible! I would definitely take another course with him.

I suggest you do the readings, show up in class, and participate a lot, and you'll be fine in this course. He clearly knows his stuff and he always makes the class interesting He's also great to talk to in his office hours. He's one of the best profs I've ever had at UofT. 10/10 would recommend taking his course!
