Awesome

His class was my favorite. He is a really good teacher. However, you will have to read before every class. The readings are interesting and you can discuss them in class. If you do not understand what he is trying to say, you can insist until you get a thought provoking response.

Awesome

Prof. William is one of my favorite profs! There are tons of reading, so he expects you to study it and participate in discussion. Class is tough, but you should be fine as long as you do the readings and take good notes in class. Make sure you have a friend to send you notes if you can't come to class.

What Texas Lawmakers Really Achieved for Women

What Texas Lawmakers Really Achieved for Women

In the first part of the 21st century

the complicated relationship between transparency and\nsecurity reached a boiling point with revelations of extra-judicial CIA activities

near universal NSA\nmonitoring and unprecedented whistleblowing – and prosecution of whistleblowers under the\nEspionage Act. This article examines the dual necessities of security (specifically

    the Intelligence\nCommunity) and transparency (specifically

the Fourth Estate or media) for any democracy

and\nthe manner in which whistleblowers radically saddle this Janus-faced relationship. Then I will move\nto contemporary examples of whistleblowing

showing how and why some prove more damaging\nor beneficial than others. I will conclude with some suggestions as to practical reforms which might\nmitigate the seemingly inevitable pendulum-swinging between Snowden-style vigilantism and a\npanoptic security state.
