    Director: PhD Program in International Business. Radcliffe Killam Professor of Economics.

    Director: Center for Western Hemispheric Trade.

    Taught PhD courses in open economy macroeconomics, econometrics, financial economerics, time series modeling. Taught an MBA course in financial crises.

    Published scholarly and technical articles.

    Gave lectures in English and Spanish. These included academic and policy-related presentations. As an example, in 2014 I gave a talk in Spanish to a large group of state legislators from Mexican states along Mexico's northern and southern borders. I discussed characteristics of international migrants from Latin America and on factors determining their migration. .

  • Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas

    Vice President and Senior Economist

    Briefed the president of the bank prior to his voting on monetary policy at the Federal Open Market Committee meetings in Washington.

    Served as Director of the Center for Latin American Economics

    As Vice-President and Senior Economist, I carried out other managerial duties

    Performed research in open economy macroeconomics, international trade, international finance, money and banking, labor economics from an international perspective. This research was regularly published in technical and academic journals and in publications at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. This work has been cited or referenced by other authors in more than 1700 of their research publications in economic s, business and finance, as well as in law journals.

    Wrote articles for business journals, including the Wall Street Journal.

    Regularly gave presentations in both English and Spanish at central banks and at technical meetings across the Western Hemisphere. Interacted with central bankers and economic researchers in Europe and at the People's Bank of China and at the Foreign Exchange Commission of the People's Republic of China
