Garrison McNeil has enjoyed a rich general practice of
varied building types for both public sector and private clients.
Mr. McNeil became a founding partner in 1977 of the firm
LeGendre Johnson McNeil. LJM was, until its dissolution in
1990, one of the leading black architectural firms in the
metropolitan area.. Among some of the projects that
Mr. McNeil was the principal-in-charge-of were:
the Apollo Theatre restoration and renovation, the Carmine
Street Recreation Center, the Bedford Stuyvestant
Multi-Service Center, Prudent Gardens Housing,
St. Mary's Center - a residence for individuals with AIDS.
Mr. McNeil has also participated in urban design and
planning studies; 42nd Street Design Guidelines, the
Harlem Gateway Neighborhood Strategy Area, the Harlem
Third World Trade Center Study.

Other Recent projects include:

-Promise School 125th ST. and Madison Ave. Co-Architect.
90,000 sq ft. school and headquarters for Harlem Children Zone.

-Church of the Master. Architect
Rennovation of historic Harlem church.

-HeadStart Center, Northside Center for Children and Family. Architect.
Conversion of 2 story factory building into head-start center with rooftop play area.

-Strive Heaquarters and Teaching Center. Lead Architect.
Alteration for non-for-profit organization.

-Jefferson Ave. Co-Architect
Supportive Housing

-Apollo Theatre. Partner in Charge.
Restoration and Renovation of the historic Harlem theatre.

Mr. McNeil has had a multifaceted professional background;
along with being a registered architect he is a professor of
architecture at the City College School of Architecture and
was a New York City Commissioner of Planning for three
years. As a commissioner he was involved in the
major decision making and strategies regarding NYC.
