My passion is helping organizations unlock the power of analytics to inform strategic and tactical decisions. Where I particularly excel is in roles that require moving between the world of business and the practice of analytics. I do this by:

• Translating: Understanding business questions deeply and devising the right analytical framework to solve it. Delivering answers and robust solutions relevant to the specific business context.

• Creative problem solving: Business questions rarely come with a perfectly matched data set to answer them. Blending different, and sometimes seemingly unrelated, data sources and applying new analytical methods is necessary to achieve the best insight.

• Seeing the trees and the forest: Understanding the methodological and technological details of analytics, and their implications for the value and limits to inform and build organizational strategy.
• Storytelling: Using narrative and creative visualizations to make analytical insights relevant and compelling to business partners.

• Teaching and coaching: Helping business partners become more fluent in the use of analytics for their decision-making, and developing the business acumen of technical staff.

• Learning: New business models, new domains, new methods, new technologies and tools, new ways of developing myself and others. Always.

• Making connections: Identifying and adapting proven solutions from other domains and bodies of work to avoid reinventing the wheel.
