As a counselor and instructor for over 18 years, I have been an integral piece of the educational and career puzzle for hundreds of students and federal employees. My knowledge and experience has provided my students and clients with the tools and confidence to move forward with their education and career goals.

    • Organized with the transfer team the 2013/14/15 Alexandria campus transfer fairs for 70 college and university admissions staff and 500 plus students.
    • Coordinate with the transfer team 60 plus onsite college and university admissions staff visits for the Alexandria campus.
    • Counsel 500 plus students per year regarding academic programs, dual enrollment, career development, and transfer options.
    • Provided academic advising to veterans taking courses at NOVA.
    • Present transfer workshops at new student orientation and colleagues’ Student Development classes.
    • Present Myers Briggs Type Indicator and resume writing workshops in colleagues’ SDV classes.
    • Teach two SDV 100 College Success Skills courses each semester. Syllabus includes resume writing and interviewing skills. Taught SDV 106 Prep for Employment and SDV 107 Career Education.
    • Performed Outreach activities that include coordinating and representing NOVA at college fairs for Fairfax County Public Schools, City of Alexandria Public Schools, and Arlington County Public Schools.
    • Presented over 50 NOVA information presentations to parents and students annually. Developed and maintained relationships with high school personnel.
    • Organized and coordinated the Alexandria campus annual high school breakfast, attended by 50 plus counselors, teachers and staff.
    • Completed the VCCS 2012/13 Faculty Exchange Program in Oldenzaal, the Netherlands.
    • Completed NOVA’s 2011-2012 Leadership Program.
    • Served on 10 hiring committees for the Alexandria campus. Chair for the Satisfactory Academic Progress Advisor and Education Support Specialist positions.
    • Assistant Coach for NOVA’s Ice Hockey team (2008-2010)
