Biography

University of Illinois Chicago - Health Science

Clinical Associate Professor at University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Applied Health Sciences
Tiana
AL-Aswad Kieso
Greater Chicago Area
I am a Public Health Physician dedicated for providing successful healthcare management including leadership, development, implementation, and evaluation of healthcare programs.

My career focus on preventive services and disease management was nurtured through my 14 years of experience as a physician in a developing country in rural and urban areas. This background provided me a unique and diverse perspective.

My passion for patient-centered care continued and progressed with my work in the U.S. in serving patients, mainly with low health literacy, obvious health disparities and lacking insurance resources. I am devoted to educating patients, training health center staff, as well as coaching hospital staff to implement programs.

I enjoy working with teams, partnering, and integrating services to develop comprehensive, well-rounded teams and achieve successful program outcomes without duplication and waste. However, I believe in defining a role and responsibility for each team member and partner.

My unique experience in working with diverse populations and settings helps me to envision realistic and practical project goals that can be achieved and spread effectively. I have shared and demonstrated these projects through oral and poster presentations to diverse audiences, including academic and community conferences.
