Thomas
Loder
College Station, Texas
I am a human-environment geographer interested in questions regarding rural economic and sociocultural transitions as they pertain to natural resource use. My thinking is informed primarily by cultural and political ecology, with strong links to assemblage theory, institutional analysis and theories of affect, emotion and experience. At present, my research examines the production of environmental subjectivities and support for hydraulic fracturing (fracking) in North Dakota, utilizing qualitative and geospatial methods. Previous research examined the relationship between dairy farmer livelihoods and manure biogas production in rural Vermont.
