Biography

Mercy College - Psychology

Experience

  • Mercy College

    Adjunct professor

As an adjunct professor, I teach a wide range of undergraduate psychology courses from Intro to Psyche to Death and Dying. As such, organizing and planning chapter lectures, discussion topics, and course related activities are all part of the responsibilities of a professor in a higher learning setting. My goal as an adjunct is to not only teach the respective course material as outlined in the department syllabus, but to also foster a sense of self- awareness about one's own psyche i.e. specific behavioral and thought patterns, emotions, personality and traits etc. with an emphasis on interactive/participatory classroom dynamics so as to better equip students to understand the mental processes of people in general. The classroom emotional climate is one of non-judgment, continuously encourages an exchange of free-flowing ideas, while imbuing a profound sense of respect for the students, instructor, and the educational process.
