    • Stanford University

      Graduate Student/Instructor

During my time in grad school, I wrote a 250-page dissertation on multicultural encounters in early modern literature, and was active in academic service, including the university Committee on Research and the English department’s Graduate Student Council and Finance Committee. As a student member of the Graduate Admissions Committee, I participated in both interviews and decision-making. Teaching in both the English department and the Program of Writing and Rhetoric was an essential part of the work; so was publishing academic articles and participating in national and international conferences. I received approximately $250,000 in fellowships (including tuition funding) from various sources.
