Dr. Palaima goes off on tangents a lot of the time and to be honest the teachers assistants taught with much more detail and clarity. The class is a decent amount of reading, we had to buy ten books.

I do respect Professor Palaima and his ta's, however the class felt ridiculous sometimes. The lectures were unorganized most of the time and very difficult to keep up with. He veers off topic at times and there were very few grades.

Professor Palaima Rambles on a lot, but there's a point if you sit tight. It's hard to go through classes. Don't purchase the books unless you need to comment - rent or check out or check out in the library. "Participation is optional", but the quiz questions are usually based on small details mentioned in the lecture, so you have to be careful. You can do well if you read and are good at essay writing.
