Susan
Arvay
Highland Park, New Jersey
I am an experienced college instructor of composition and early British and World literature who has picked up a number of related skills and experiences along the way, including:

--Advanced research and writing skills, as evidenced by my successfully completed dissertation.
--Administrative skills developed during my time as an Assistant Director of the Rutgers Writing Program and as Chair of the English Department at RVCC, including staffing and budgeting responsibilities.
--Faculty development skills necessary for training and supervising tutors and mentoring graduate student instructors in the Rutgers Writing Program, and for mentoring adjunct English faculty at RVCC.
--Communication skills, both interpersonal and written, necessary for connecting with students at various academic levels in every class I teach, as well as with faculty, staff, and upper-level administrators.
--Technological skills as evidenced by my development and maintenance of the RVCC English department's SharePoint site.

I enjoy new challenges, and I'm always on the lookout for opportunities to learn and grow in new directions.
