Experience

  • Central Connecticut State University

Adjunct Professor in Political Science Department

I designed and teach an upperclassmen political science course at Central Connecticut State University on the John F. Kennedy Presidency. The course utilizes a wide array of primary sources, including letters, declassified memoranda, photographs, audiotapes, videotapes and oral histories from the archives of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston to bring the White House years to life in the classroom. These primary sources provide a window into how critical public policy positions were developed, how crises were managed and how decisions were made by President Kennedy, behind closed doors. There is also a class field trip to the Presidential Library where students meet with archival and Library staff to learn how to conduct original research utilizing the vast resources of a Presidential Library.
