Biography

Gonzaga University - General Engineering

Professor and Senior University Fellow for International Development at Gonzaga University
Stephen
Silliman
Spokane, Washington
I am a long-term faculty member with professional interests in groundwater (quantity, quality, wells, testing), probabilistic methods, and international development. I am also very dedicated to the educational process and methods that can best help students to engage in learning.

I have been involved in international work in Low and Middle Income Countries (LMIC) since the early 1990's. My early work in LMICs was focused in Haiti. Starting in the late 1990's, I became deeply involved in water resource and educational efforts in Benin (West Africa). I have also contributed to various projects in Uganda and Malawi. Most recently, I have become involved with the USAID and its partner universities (US and international) through the Jefferson Science Fellowship (Aug 2018 - Aug 2019) through which I spent a very interesting year with the Center for Development Research in the Global Development Lab at USAID in Washington DC.

I have attached a recent CV containing additional details on my work and publications.
