    Review aquaculture applications for NY State permitting. Facilitate health certifications of shellfish sources to be used in the Governor’s Shellfish Restoration Project. Planning and site monitoring for shellfish transplant operations. Reviewer for shellfish restoration proposals. Provided hard clam population consultations for potential impact of Northeast Supply Enhancement pipeline project through Raritan Bay (Lower NY Harbor). Consultations with the NEIWPCC Long Island Sound Study Bio-extraction Coordinator regarding shellfish and seaweed permitting guidance documents. Compiled shellfish aquaculture operation locations with gear type and harvest activity for public health survey planning. Coordinated with the US Food and Drug Administration for shellfish harvest growing area review and aquaculturist harvest site inspections. Reviewed shellfish relevant portions of NYS Department of State’s South Shore Estuary Reserve Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan. State representative for Suffolk County’s ten year review of shellfish aquaculture in the Peconic Estuary. Coordinate with Shellfish Sanitation water quality and Harmful Algal Biotoxin monitoring. Facilitate pathology investigations for wild shellfish.
