Experience

  • Drager

    Systems/Software Engineer

    Developer Roles:
Code Reviews, member on CFT group, bug fixes product enhancements, installation guides, developer tests, V&V tests, scrum team member,
Participated in Logging and Localization Quality Initiatives as well as Draeger Innovation fairs.

Gateway Product: (C++, C#, Database support, HL7, Networking Analysis, InstallShield)
Involved in a release to upgrade Gateway from version 5 to version 6. Release involved working with Windows Server 2008 R2 and creating a custom database installer for SQL Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2005 and implementing ePHI. Release also included rebranding the application from “Draeger Medical” to “Draeger”, Implemented initial unit testing framework using CPPUnit. Updated the installer and Licensing application to show new features, bug fixes, migrated localization dlls to use the Passolo application as well as removed all side-by-side errors from the application. Performed load testing, first-article inspection and checksum generation before the system release. Responsible for giving a presentation on the HL7 and Gateway application to the service department and new employees.

Symphony Product: ( C#, C++, .Net, Versant Database)
Worked on a team to refactor the Symphony waveforms to match the ICS waveforms. Development included implementation of correct scalar transformations for 60+ waveforms including ECG, SPO2, EEG and blood pressure waves. Transformations were derived by analyzing network traffic reading the value and finding the correct pixel value for the waveform. Implementation was done using C# and Microsoft Excel. Moved waveforms calculations to the Waveform Graphic Context object to create a more scalable waveform implementation. Also involved in researching and implementing SSL Encryption. GoDaddy certificates were used to test SSL to make sure Symphony still worked with other Draeger products.

  • Raytheon

    Sr. Software Engineer

Robert worked at Raytheon as a Sr. Software Engineer

Work involved learning MIL-STD 6016E, bug fixes and implementation of the J28.1.22 message and ICP updates. ICP updates required writing a design document to match a requirements documents generated by the ICP. Wrote code to handle the interaction between a J3.6 Ballistic Missile, J7.7 BMD Message and a J7.1 Data Update Request. Education

  • University of Massachusetts Dartmouth

    MS

    Computer Science
Thesis: Fuzzy Geospatial Risk Assessment of Tactical Strike Positions: Wrote code to build and customize fuzzy manifolds and fuzzy sets. Then evaluated which class a value belongs to. Used this to evaluate damage of strike over multiple GIS layers as High, Medium or Low. Wrote code to try and optimize the impact angle and reduce the damage to surrounding buildings for a tactical strike while avoiding breaking Military Rules of Engagement.
