    Rob won the Department of Management's 2014 Award for PhD Research Excellence as well as the Bauer College's 2015 Dissertation Proposal Award. His dissertation proposal reviews the physiological and neurological mechanisms associated with hunger and satiety

    examining brain structures and tracing the effects of neurotransmitters like dopamine and endogenous opioids as well as hormones like ghrelin and leptin

    and ultimately revealing how the brain’s reward circuitry may mediate the effects of hunger and satiety on the outcomes of interest including temporal discounting

    risk propensity

    and (un)ethicality.
