Awesome

I absolutely love the class of Professor Bergeron. He's very laid back yet energetic at the same time. He's really interactive and likes to talk about controversial topics for us to get engaged.

    Bergeron

I'm the one who actually reads the instructions when he gets a new toy. Ok

skims them and opens up YouTube tutorials and tries to find a blogger with the same toy. I always need to figure out how stuff

whether it's a P&L report or the pre-programmed recipes on an industrial oven

works so if it goes wrong I'm ready with a possible solution or can at least tell whoever is dealing with it directly how to hold it together until we can create a more permanent fix.\n\nTeaching First Year Composition part time at a community college is the best ongoing practice for this 'Learn

Adapt and Solve' habit that I've ever had. Changing up my explanation and presentations for different students is a continually satisfying challenge

especially when I get to see the moment when a concept clicks for someone who just was not getting it.\n\nOne of the most important concepts I've learned from my students is the need for balance between my thirst for more information and knowledge and deciding I have enough to tackle the problem. Call it signal/noise ratio

    information overload

or \"57 channels and nothing on;\" sometimes you just need to give it a try with what you've got and change as necessary. After all

if the exact answer was something I could just find on the first page of Google results

my ideas wouldn't be needed.\n\nThe corollary to this concept is that if people are working together

the essential info needs to be shared accurately. No task is less satisfying than the one that needs to be repeated because of a miscommunication or overlooked detail at the beginning. As my father's favorite carpentry aphorism says: \"Measure twice

cut once.\"\n\nLearning new approaches and figuring out new ways to deal with the same old (and the unexpected) problems is what keeps me going. If you're looking for a fresh eyes on your current problem
