Biography

Jackson State University - Biology

Assistant Professor/ Environmental Sciences at Jackson State University, MS

Research goals: Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative and multi-disciplinary research programs to integrate geo-spatial technologies with field experiments for the study of nested ecosystem processes in natural and managed ecosystems.

Research interests:
Investigate potentials and limitations of geo-spatial technologies (i.e. lidar and multispectral remote sensing, GIS, spatial statistics) for the study of nested ecosystem processes in natural and managed ecosystems.

More specifically, I want to investigate innovative research methods that enable the application of these geo-spatial techniques in multi-disciplinary research approaches, to study: 1) vegetation biophysical characteristics and their spatial and temporal dynamics; 2) effects of changing environments (climate and anthropogenic) on vegetation; and 3) their interactions with different factors (i.e. plant, soil, water, air and human).
