My teaching philosophy is to engage my students through the use of technology

    popular culture

and practicing their speaking skills so that they gain a recognition of the implications of good communication skills in their personal lives.\n\nMy research focuses on communication between children and their parents

    peers

and teachers. My previous research projects have included emotion regulation skills and channels of communication for bullied students. I have also worked as a consultant to schools on the impact of bullying in late elementary and middle school.
