Poor

He flies through his slides so you are not able to write everything down. He has no study guides and starts and stops in between chapters. He gives extra credit but unless you know microbiology already its not easy. It is very hard to try and figure out what to study.

He truly knows microbiology. The problem is how he not well organized the notes. You need to read a book because of his lectures is a bit confusing. Exams are hard so you need to study in advance. Attend his lectures because he grades clickers for the correctness, he also offers a lot of extra credit and homework to helo your grades.

Good

Professor Himes is great! Here are the pros and cons of his Microbiology 257 class: Pros- he is very accessible, there is lots of extra credit available, the content isn't difficult as long as you read the textbook and go to lectures and pay attention to the small things. Cons- He talks fast, class is lecture heavy, and the tests can be tricky so, again, pay attention to the details.

Awesome

I loved Professor Himes! He is super sweet and you can tell that he loves what he is talking about, which helps the information feel less dry. The online homework is really helpful, and he records all the lectures so you can go back if you missed something, plus he gives a lot of extra credit. Overall, he is great and I highly recommend him!
