Dr. Chiarot received the BASc, MASc, and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto. From 2008 to 2009, he was a post doctoral research associate at the University of Rochester. Dr. Chiarot joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the State University of New York at Binghamton in 2011 where he directs the Microfluidics and Multiphase Flow Laboratory. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2017. His research interests include: additive manufacturing using electrospray printing and continuous ink jet technology, microfluidics with biology and energy applications, synthetic cells/vesicles, and the fluid mechanics of the brain. Dr. Chiarot has published over thirty papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings and he has one issued US patent. Along with his collaborators, his research is supported by the NSF, ACS, NIH, and industry. Dr. Chiarot received the NSF CAREER Award in 2016.
