Experience

  • University of Saskatchewan

    DRAMA PROFESSOR/DIRECTOR/ACTOR

Teach acting (all years), voice and speech (third- or fourth-year) and, occasionally, directing. Also direct Greystone productions for their mainstage theatre. Completed a certificate training program in "Teaching the Meisner Approach" with Larry Silverberg of the True Acting Institute. Directed LOOK BACK IN ANGER for the Brick & Mortar Theatre Company in the spring of 2013, and portrayed a Belarussian mechanic at Persephone Theatre for their season opener: MY CHERNOBYL. Played the Mom in TRUE WEST and Duchess of York in RICHARD II for the Saskatoon Shakespeare Lab. Performed in Regina at the Saskatchewan Playwrights' Centre's Spring Festival of New Plays took place. The work at the Festival was excellent -- and it was great to see so many of my former students performing so well! I directed 7 STORIES with the first- and second-year actors at the U of S, and WILLOW ROAD for Paper Cranes for Charlotte Productions at The Refinery as part of the Live Five season last spring. Next, I directed MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING for Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan and had a blast working with all the talented people (actors, designers, tech crew and administrators) who work for that organization!! I directed LES BELLES-SOEURS for Greystone (at the University) and then acted in Heather Morrison's award-winning THICKER THAN WATER, which toured to Battleford, Moose Jaw, Regina and finally Saskatoon. Am gearing up to direct Tony Kushner's THE ILLUSION for the Drama Department this winter.
