Catch a Wave and Engage Adjuncts

Are you tired of putting your faculty on the surfboard with “training fins” when you try to prepare them for teaching with Canvas? Come to this session to learn how the Virginia Community College system banded together to create training for adjuncts that pulled off the “training fins” faster and allowed a smooth transition to Canvas. We will discuss how we created a traveling Roadshow and webinars to target those adjuncts who are difficult to reach and only have a little time on campus for training.

On the Road to Open: Case Studies from Three Institutions on Successful OER Initiatives

Implementing an OER initiative takes time

    resources

    communication across divisions and teams

    change management and modeling

and proper funding. In this session

hear from representatives from key stakeholders across campus - Administration

Faculty and Instructional Design - who collaborate to design

support and execute OER initiatives. Panelists will discuss barriers to adoption as well as recommend best practices in moving to open educational resources. Specifically

learn how the panelists’ use of Intellus Learning’s OER repository

    course creation functionality

and student engagement analytics has helped each participating panelist launch their OER initiative and meet the unique needs of their students.
