    Sport Marketing: A Canadian Perspective

    2nd Edition

    In working with NBC Sports

we were charged with identifying the reasons behind the rapid growth of rights fees deals in the United States in recent years. NBC Sports wanted us to do a deep dive into recent sports television rights fees deals to identify factors

    behind ratings

that have causes these fees to escalate. In collaboration with Norm O'Reilly of Ohio University

we created a conceptual framework and ran a regression model to identify those variables that most significantly impact the cost of sports TV rights deals. Through the creation of this model

were able to pick out a number of variables that have significantly affected the rise these rights fees.\n\nPresented final project to staff at NBC Sports offices in New York City in April 2015.
