    Medical Dosimetrist

    Serving as one of two staff medical dosimetrists for this large radiation oncology center, treatment planning experience included Pinnacle (external beam radiation) and Nucletron (HDR brachytherapy).
    Primary responsibilities included: 1) designing computerized treatment plans; 2) assisting with treatment planning CT scans and simulation procedures; 3) performing radiation dose calculations; 4) performing treatment planning and calculations following national protocol guidelines (one of the largest RTOG sites in the nation). I was involved in the implementation of the new CT simulation and introduction of IMRT. I also performed diode measurements and some quality assurance.

    1997-1999 Manager of Radiation Oncology: Primary responsibilities included: 1) management of daily operations; 2) coordinating, directing, and being a change agent in developmental processes; 3) management of approximately 40 staff members; 4) management of budgetary and contractual needs of department and affiliate free-standing facility long distance; 5) monitoring and approval of quality assurance measurements, policies, and procedures; 6) resource for computer applications, programs, and networking needs within the department; and 7) clinical supervisor and interim program director for the Radiation Therapy program.
    1992-1997 Radiation Therapist/Lead Simulator Radiation Therapist/Medical Dosimetrist: Primary responsibilities included: 1) delivery and simulation of patient treatments; 2) performing treatment planning and dose calculations; 3) lead simulator therapist; 4) assisting with other simulation/dosimetry staff training; 4) involved in patient protocol and research studies; 5) clinical education supervisor for the Radiation Therapy program; 6) didactic instruction for Radiation Therapy program; 7) clinical instruction for medical and physics residents.
