Average

Professor Plankey-Videla is a really sweet one. She's very understanding during the pandemic. However, her grading system is unpredictable. You'll never know why you got a lot of points taken off on the exams. Reading is a bit more. And if you're conservative, you might feel a little uncomfortable or unwelcome in her class. Also, attendance counts so you need to show up.

Good

Professor Videla cares about her students. She's incredibly passionate about the course. You have to work hard to get an A, which includes volunteering on your own time. She will call you in class, so take good notes and do the readings. For sure this is not an easy A class, but you'll learn a lot about immigration and yourself.
