    Initiative for Maximizing Student Diversity (IMSD) Program Coordinator

    Recruiting and training URM undergraduate students in STEM research, with emphasis in getting students into graduate program. Strong collaboration between UCSD and local community colleges. NIH grant Funded.

  • Hartnell College

    Director of Student and Academic Support Services (Interim)

    Managed federal, state and private grants to fund various student support initiatives. Served as hiring chair, supervisor, and evaluator for 6 full academic support specialist, tutorial coordinator, and 100+ student workers serving across multiple campuses and departments.Transitioned Math Academy (non-credit math acceleration efforts) into for-credit courses (Math 601, Math 621). Collected, analyzed, and assessed student Learning outcomes (SLO’s) and Service Area Outcomes (SAO’S) to measure and improve program effectiveness.

    Academic Follow-Up Services Specialist

    Train and supervising students, staff, and faculty is support of the Early Support Program. Design and implement support systems in support of AB-705, AB-288, AB-19, College Redesign, and ACCJC compliance. Lead college efforts for outreach and retention for at risk student populations, students on academic/progress probation, and current students demonstrating challenges inside the classroom.
    Review, revise, develop and implement curriculum through CurricUNET. Collaborated on the implementation of a multiple summer bridge modalities, including a 1 day orientation for first time students as well as having resurrected a 1-unit counseling orientation course. Collaborate with faculty to develop high impact intervention strategies for academic support. Ensure the development, implementation, evaluation and improvement of a data tracking system to collect and analyze student success indicators.
