• As a member of the NYAST and later as a BOD

  I participated on the Government and Political Action (GAPA) committee during the process to pass mandatory Surgical Technology Certification legislation in New York. I went to \"Albany Days\"​ in 2011 with other CST's to speak with legislators about certification of Surgical Technologists and how important that is for the patients of New York and across the country. We made an impact and the bill passed through the State Assembly and Senate for three years in a row until Governor Cuomo signed it into law on July 31

  2013. The law came into effect in January 2015 for the greater good of all surgical patients in the great state of New York!

Encouraging Surgical Technologists to attend bi-yearly workshops that we have in Delaware to give opportunity for Certified Surgical Technologists to attain Continuing Educational Units. Contribute to local needs of those less fortunate especially at Christmas and at the Spring Workshop.
