Experience

  • The University of Arizona

    Recitation assisstant

Assistant in recitations for calculus-based introductory mechanics. In this role, I learned to direct groups of approximately 20 students. This involved leading several small groups through their assigned tasks, maintaining progress in the overall group, and facilitating interactions between diverse individuals.

  • University of Arizona Cosmology Group

    Student Researcher

This role presented a more practical perspective to my physics education. In this role, I analyzed data using python, quickly immersing myself into a subject I had little prior experience in. This allowed me to learn to quickly teach myself practical abilities in an unfamiliar area. I also worked with professors and graduate students to learn new aspects of coding and cosmology.

  • University of Arizona

    Preceptor

Preceptor for Phys102 (algebra-based introductory mechanics) with Dr. Brokk Toggerson. In this position, I worked with students during lectures to further explain concepts and assisted students with
challenge problem solving days and homework. I also held office hours, during which I worked with students individually, addressing concerns with homework, tests, and class examples. This position allowed me to express complex ideas to introductory students and learned how to address student needs and concerns.

Education

  • University of Arizona

    Bachelor of Science (B.S.)

    Physics
This undergraduate degree in physics as exposed me to fundamental areas of physics and also allowed me to access various specialty areas (such as particle physics and general relativity). I have also pursued additional mathematics in my studies.

  • University of Arizona, Eller College of Management

    Bachelor of Science (B.S.)

    Business Administration and Management, General
A broad degree that provides exposure to accounting, economics, operations management, and general leadership ability. The completion of this degree has also allowed me to lean how to work well in a corporate structure, understand the social aspects of business, and how to balance work in business, physics, and concurrent employment.
