  Philosophy Statement \n\n\n\tMy responsibility as an early childhood educator is to offer a program that provides a solid foundation for children to grow. It is my belief that understanding child development and having an accepting

  compassionate

  flexible

  and warm approach is essential in building this foundation. Knowing that parent participation is essential in all good early education programs

  I begin by creating an environment where parents feel welcome to participate in any aspect that they can. By respecting the individual families and their culture

  I am able to deepen my relationship with each family and with each child. In working together

  the child’s family and I are able to scaffold the children’s development in the area of self-regulation

  constructive peer-to-peer relationships

  which creates a strong base for the children’s future academic learning potential. \n\tI create a physical environment that is welcoming

  and promotes young children’s developing independence. The children in my classroom are supported in each learning domain because my teaching method incorporates varied instructional approaches and provides experiences and opportunities for the children to interact

  and engage. \n\tMy responsibility as the teacher is to implement the curricula in an age appropriate manner which begins with the understanding that young children learn best through a combination of direct instruction

  authentic play encounters

  and hands-on-experiences. My teaching practice includes formal and informal observations and assessments. The information gained through this process guides me in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum practices and allows me to make adjustments based on the children’s individual needs. \n\t It is my greatest pleasure to accept children for whom they are
