Department of Nursing Instructor

Completed a Comprehensive Master of Science in Nursing in May 2016. Teaching nursing skills in the classroom and lab, and clinical instruction in community/populations health for WTAMU Department of Nursing. Currently developing an interdisciplinary research project in conjunction with graduate students in Sports and Exercise Science and Music Therapy to study the use of specialized music for improving walking functions in patients with Parkinson's disease. Also working to develop additional opportunities and relationships for nursing students to partner with those in the community.

Amarillo Women's Network

Developing monthly meeting programs to empower women through networking for economic success. Participates in a yearly joint partnership with Amarillo Women's Network and Rotary International to mentor Amarillo area high school students interested in health sciences occupations. Annual panelist for Health Occupations Career Day for area high school students.

I employed a staff of almost 130 qualified personnel, and ensured the provision of staff education, evaluations, accurate documentation of care, and high patient satisfaction survey reports.

I coordinated all community outreach efforts for public education regarding home care and hospice services, and was liaison to approximately 250 Amarillo and area Physicians. I have given hundreds of presentations to healthcare professionals and senior level medical and nursing students, civic organizations, and community groups. Topics included home care and hospice, geriatrics, care giving, fall prevention, cardiac health, women's health, advanced directives, faith-based/parish nursing, and many more. I also had oversight of all referrals and growth in patient census.
