Extensive experience communicating with people of diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds in the U.S. and South America. Close to a year and a half spent abroad as a student in Ecuador and later as a teacher in Chile. Friendly and open demeanor and proven ability to actively engage with students in both English and Spanish. Conducted in-home visits for families enrolled in an income eligible healthy homes program.     Community Health Educator Intern

    Conducted in-home presentations, in English and Spanish, regarding the dangers of lead and other healthy homes issues for income eligible families with small children. Managed cases and developed good rapport with the families; acted as a primary liaison for all Spanish speaking clients, explaining all paperwork, lead test results, and next steps. Represented SRC at screening events, guided families through the enrollment process for our grant program. Provided Spanish translations of lengthy PowerPoint presentations on SRC’s grant program and on radon detection and treatment. Translated the educational puppet show SRC performs in schools into Spanish

    Teachers Internship Practicum Specialist (TIPS)

    Acted as co-teacher of English for students in grades K-6, 14 classes and approximately 36 students per class for a total of around 500 students. Designed and administered small group activities and discussions to promote students’ speaking skills. Prepared and taught classes alone in the event my co-teacher was absent, at times with no advance notice. Lead standardized test study sessions.

Fielded all manner of questions and concerns related to admissions, coursework, and student life on tour, on the phone, or at the front desk. Coordinated visits and answered inquiries by phone and email using Salesforce after completing optional training.
