Mood and Violence Sensitivity: Using an Emotion Elicitation Paradigm to Examine Violence Severity

My Master's Thesis based upon the pilot study presented as a poster previously (Violence Sensitivity and Affect) that examines violence sensitivity within the context of an emotion elicitation paradigm. This project utilized two methods of emotion elicitation: internally generated emotions (Automatic Story Recall) and externally generated emotions (Film Clip Procedure). The study examined the influence of the following emotions; anger

    fear

    sadness

happiness in addition to a neutral condition. Focus was placedl not only on emotion elicitation and improvement of the previous study but also re-examined the relationship between aggression and perception of violence severity.

Mood and Violence Sensitivity: Using an Emotion Elicitation Paradigm to Examine Violence Severity

Senior Honors Thesis Project towards completion of the Honors program. Examined perceived violence severity and its correlation to involvement in violent behaviors/opinions on specific behaviors.
