  I'm a full-time lecturer at Texas A&M University- San Antonio. I currently teach art appreciation classes. I utilize hands-on exercises to give practical experience with art media

  visiting creatives to connect students with their own artistic community

  and traditional lectures. \n\nAt TAMUSA I've had the opportunity to create new course offerings. I'm currently developing a community partnership with the San Antonio Museum of Art. This spring semester the museum and I are launching Art Appreciation: The Museum as Textbook. In this course

  our goal is to foster a greater connection between the students and the museum as a community center. \n\nI have developed and submitted a Latinx art appreciation to the university. My goal in developing this course was to reflect our diverse student population and commitment to historically underserved communities. Additionally

  my department chair and I have designed and submitted a drawing course which if accepted would become the first studio art offering at TAMUSA.
