  I was nominated as a Rising Star for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation here in East Tennessee. In accepting this distinction

  I committed to raise money and awareness to help the Foundation realize its mission of controlling and curing cystic fibrosis (CF). It was an incredible honor to be a part of this campaign. Not only am I raising money in honor of a friend

  but I support amazing efforts to find a cure through vital CF research

  medical and education programs. I am thrilled to announce that our Rising Star class raised $73

  000 making us the most successful class yet!

  Man Up. . .Real Men Mentor

  In today’s society

  it is important to have someone to look up to and it is vital for a young boy to see what it means to be a man. Across the nation

  there is a strong push to recruit men to become mentors through Big Brothers Big Sisters. Locally

  there are over one hundred boys on our waiting list hoping to be matched with a mentor. Big Brothers BIg Sisters of East Tennessee did some research on how we could recruit more men and the \"Man Up. . . Real Men Mentor\" Campaign is what we developed. Over the course of the last three months

  we tripled the amount of volunteers we usually have during that time by conducting \"Lunch & Learns\" with local businesses

  churches

  and civil organizations. Our work is never done

  but this is a great start for a campaign that will continue to influence the lives of youth in our community.

  Matched children with volunteer mentors and supported the matches through professional match support based on needs of the match. Implemented a strategically planned recruitment campaign called ManUp

  fulfilling the need for male mentors. Supported fundraising efforts through partnership development .

  Served as staff liaison to alumni chapters in multiple regions across the country

  working with them to develop and conduct programs and events connecting them back to the university. Oversaw email communication plan for the UT Knoxville Alumni Chapter program. Partnered with various campus departments to enhance chapter involvement in alumni student recruitment and funding scholarship efforts.

  Amachi Program at Big Brothers Big Sisters

  Developed and implemented a recruitment plan for children and volunteers for the Amachi Program

  serving children of prisoners through Big Brothers Big Sisters. Developed and maintained partnerships with faith based and community organizations.

  Manage the operation of the alumni chapter program for UT Knoxville. Serve as staff liaison to twenty-four major market alumni chapters in multiple regions across the country

  working with them to develop and conduct programs and events connecting them back to the university. Partner with various campus departments and colleges to enhance chapter involvement in alumni engagement and student recruitment. Provide training to chapter leaders throughout the year through during workshops and webinars. Cultivate relationships with alumni and friends of the university. Create opportunities for impact on Future Vols by securing new Alumni Chapter Scholarship Endowments.
