    I serve as a member of the US delegation to the IWC Scientific Committee. My main activity is to participate in the Stock Definition and DNA standing committee

    and the Aboriginal Whaling Management Plan (AWMP) committee. Other committees of intterest to me includethe Environmental (E) committee and the Northern Hemisphere (NH) committee. My main areas of expertise are genetics and stock structure

    and I conduct studies on bowhead whales sponsored by the North Slope Borough of Alaska Department of Wildlife Management

    and the Alaska Eskimo Whaling Commission and gray whales sponsored by Exxon and Shell.

    the department in which he worked for 30 years. He retired from WFSC in 2006 and now works as an independent consultant.
