    Jerome O'Callaghan received his B. Civil Law from University College Dublin (Ireland) in 1978

    and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Syracuse University in 1988. He joined Cortland's Political Science Department having taught for 6 years at Texas Tech University. He chaired the Political Science Department at Cortland from 1997 until his appointment as Associate Dean in 2005. He headed the College's Title III grant from 2003 to 2005. He publishes in the area of free speech law. In 2009 he was included in the Irish Voice's \"2009 Irish Education 100.\" The list recognizes Irish and Irish-Americans who have made significant contributions to the field of education in the United States. In 2014-15 Jerome headed the Performing Arts Department at SUNY Cortland as an interim chair. \n\nSpecialties: \"The associate dean assists the dean; ... addressing student issues such as academic policy interpretation and clarification
