  University Supervisor

  Supervised student teachers in the Masters of Education program. Supported students’ development in the areas of teaching methods, classroom management, lesson planning, professional development, and reflective practice. Worked with cooperating teachers to model best practices for student teachers. Formally evaluated student teachers with evidence-based feedback on lesson plans, teaching, content knowledge, differentiated instruction, classroom management, and professional conduct.

• Northeastern Illinois University

  University Supervisor

  Supervised teacher candidates in the MAT program. Mentored students through challenges in their initial clinical assignment. Collaborated with cooperating teachers to guide and scaffold teacher candidates. Formally evaluated teacher candidates on lesson plans, teaching style, content knowledge, differentiated instruction, classroom management, and professional conduct. Designed assignments to promote self-reflective teaching practices.

  Adjunct Faculty

  Taught multiple semesters of the Methods of Teaching Language Arts course in the Teacher Education department. Designed curriculum to focus on theoretical and practical aspects of teaching language arts with an emphasis on the middle grades. Special attention given to teaching strategies for linguistically and culturally diverse learners as well as students with special needs.

  Program Manager

  Coordinated CPS placements for ISU traditional student teachers and Professional Development interns. Designed community cultural immersion programming to support ISU students living and teaching in Chicago. Created clinical experiences in CPS schools and communities for ISU faculty and students that reflect best practices in urban teaching. Recruited CPS students and teachers for ISU CeMAST ISRA camps.

  Senior Program Manager

  Facilitated multiple university partnerships in Chicago including district and community stakeholders. Directed a team to plan student clinical experiences in partner schools and communities, and design professional development to support ISU student teachers and Professional Development School interns. Disseminated CTEP teacher preparation model at conferences and meetings. Assessed programming as needed for grant reporting and research for federal and private grants awarded to CTEP.

  Director, Programs & Partnerships

  Develop and manage partnerships for ISU between Chicago Public Schools (administrators, teachers, BOE staff) and community based organizations. Lead a team of stakeholders to design and implement an immersive co-curricular model for pre-service teachers that is grounded in social justice and works to cultivate and sustain innovative, resilient, and effective educators for urban schools and their communities. Create systems for USDOE grant workteam flow between university, district and community stakeholders. Manage daily operations and lead staff in an off-campus office environment. Directly supervise 4 full-time employees as well as seasonal extra-help employees to support CTEP university and high school programs.
