I am seeking employment in human rights in Western Europe and the UK or the US mid-Atlantic region. My research, writing, speaking and teaching all focus on groups of people standing up to oppression. I have
*campaigned for human rights for prisoners of conscience
*sought adequate, affordable housing for low-income people through internships and employment with public-private partnerships
*fought against the death penalty in Texas with the local chapter of Amnesty International
*investigated how environmental concerns led citizens of the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) to challenge and eventually overthrow their government
*drawn connections between effects on one neighborhood of Reconstruction era and Urban Renewal tactics to remove black populations from white areas
*researched anti-Islamic animus as a force behind colonial policies on education, public gatherings, transportation, and labor for my dissertation
*studied black migration to Tampa during the Jim Crow era, against the tide of the Great Migration
